Yes, it is Rescue Raiders! The story is apparently you are time travellers trying to stop other time travellers who are trying to mess up WWII. But really it is about flying helicopters around (and arguably a 1vs1 defend the castle type of game? hmm...)

Tombi! (or Tomba! originally it seems)

I played through the demo version (random PS1 disc with other games too) many, many years ago.

Don't remember many details at all, but it had something to do with evil pigs.

The PS1 really had some great puzzlers. Like the one in the last post and this game, which I believe was from the same developers:


And a note for any Devil Dice fan, its latest sequel, Bombastic, was published on the PS2 a while ago. Not only is the game itself great, there are two unlockable modes that make the game play almost exactly like your choice of the previous two titles.

Wow, I didn't know anyone else played that game. Unlike DD, IQ's sequel did absolutely nothing to improve the game. The graphics were given a huge tune-up, but the constant effects made the game unplayable. As an interesting note, the PSP releases of IQ and DD could connect to each other and the original version of each was included on the other's UMD.
