I'll give you a hint, Samuel... If anybody ever references a game series in the name of a screenshot, it usually isn't from that game series.

This screenshot is from a boss battle.

And another hint for everybody... These last three screenshots all show a main character that you can control.

A CHICKEN?!?!?! It's not even a bird. It's a Chocobo with a Zero Point Energy Field Manipulator (aka Gravity Gun). I use this as my SprayPaint in online HL2 games.

Funny, I swear I've heard one chirp adorably in one of the games, perhaps XII. Admittedly, they're six foot tall birds so it's a deep chirp, but still.

Actually I'd call the onomateopeia 'kweh' a chirp, and the 'wark' a honk.

And Mog from the Final Fantasy series assures me Chocobos are definately NOT birds.

BTW, here's the last screenshot. The red-erased word is the ultimate goal of the game. It also happens to be the game disk's volume name.

In case you can't see it clearly, it is three squat triangular prisms stacked on top of each other and roatating in alternating directions around the common y-axis. Then all three of them spin around in the middle of the intersecting rings & spiral.
And no, it has nothing to do with the Triforce.

*edit* And the original screenshot with just the first word blanked out had enough text in it that the only result from google WAS the game, so I had to blank out a few more words.

Reminds me of Septerra Core, although I know it isn't.

(BTW you should most definitely try Septerra Core. I find it to be an excellent game, except the fights, which occur often are too slow paced)

Okay, I'm calling it.

This is a Playstation 1 game called "Threads of Fate" by Squaresoft. The male antagonist, Rue, is able to polymorph into various monsters that he kills, gaining their strengths and weaknesses. The female antagonist, Mint, uses magic and just wants "world domination". The overall goal of the game is to acquire the Dewprism.

New game. Not much hope for many screenshots for this game. It was one of the first games for a big game company.

That really looks like 3-D Worldrunner but...different. AH! It appears to be JJ, and of course it is by Square...why am I not surprised. I really did recognize it because of its prequel though...I used to really enjoy that game.

Erm, maybe not. Even though there was a cube-crushing boss in Blaster Master II, I don't think there was one in #1.

However, I do seem to remember fighting this boss/mini-boss in some game. The blocks would appear one at a time, slide across the screen, then freeze. Once they were all out, they would start unleashing attacks. You could only damage them when they were unfrozen.
