Thats the one. A game that used to be on the computers at school a long time ago.. I never managed to beat it there, but downloaded it a few years later and finished it.

Nope!

Okay, a little googling shows that Lives was a remake that includes the levels from the game I intended... so while it looked slightly different, I'll give it to you. This was the original Jumpman Junior. Screenshot is from the Coleco version, while I played it on my Commodore 64.

That's Edgar from FFVI using Chain Saw(?) in the town of Zozo(?).

I'd have double checked those, but couldn't get my PS to work (I'm so going to get it fixed soon)

Correct! I made it through to almost exactly halfway through the game before I gave it up.

I actually still have the full hint book for the game, with pictures and whatnot. Thus I can indeed say that the game is beatable...ain't no way I could have done it without that book though.

It's Championship Manager 01/02, but I consider Cedhric's answer to be correct enough.

The 3.x versions (including 99/00 and 01/02) are mostly just updates to each other and look almost identical.

Well, I mostly know games from the late 80's and the 90's, assuming they were released on something looking like a PC compatible. That, and adventure games, so I guess Dark Eye fell in pretty much my area of expertise.

Next one up for grabs. Unfortunately, I had to snatch it from Avault, since I cannot run the game at present (so, it's not a game that runs on anything looking remotely like Unix. Now that sure will help you).
