I could bet it is this game I used to played on PSX, something like WarGames or so (and there were Defcons). But that's just a wild guess and I am too lazy right now to check it via google.

Not really sure because all the screenshots i've seen for all the mechwarrior games don't have any tree in them and the ground is mostly flat all the time.
