I wanted to add something to the architectual community. I'm not actually releasing it. You need to spend several hours a day beta testing it. Then, I was wondering what you thought of the hold. It's going to have a lot of space, and when I release it it's going to be one level.

The above was conglomerated after a session of looking through "introducing my hold" posts in the Architecture Forum.

Before you click on that pretty blue link, I'd like to tell you something about my hold. It has a working title of Good Intetions. In other words, I have no idea what to name it. But that's not what I wanted to tell you. This demo (I'm calling it a demo so that I can feel important) of my hold is a sample of just a few of the puzzle rooms that I copy and pasted, unaltered, into the hold.

There are 10 rooms, 3 of which are secret in the demo and in the actual hold. These secret rooms have secret passages leading to them, but each secret passage is covered with a broken wall. There are 21 rooms total, and 11 of those rooms are required. You might be able to guess that the 11 rooms that are required are the non-puzzle rooms. These rooms mainly serve as transfer rooms (and some of them, ironically, are puzzles in themselves), but I want to ensure that you at least check out the puzzle rooms before you delve into building mode. The editor is for conquerererererers, and technically all you need to do is visit the non-puzzle rooms. The scripting, if I may bring myself to use street slang, is mad cool.

I'm not starting up a beta testing phase yet. I'm not even done with the hold! There is one level that's 100 rooms and I'm about 10% done with it. (The level isn't mostly open space, so that might take some time.)

And that's it! So I'm just putting this demo out just because.

In my defense, there are only two required rooms in the large level. The level is meant to be a town in Ephelna and everything should be as connected as possible. So, don't fret. It's supposed to be fun. To play, at least.

Weird idea for a hold. A like it though. I love the holds that have freaky ideas. My current project is based around the idea of being linearly-unlinear. And good luck with the 100 room level, one level of my project will eventually have 200, so I know what it feels like to rack your brains for more ideas. :lol Please keep me in mind when you start beta testing, I would love to test.

You know, one day you’re going to be beta testing like 10 holds at once, Ezlo.

That is, until you realise that all of the commitments you've made will cause your head to explode. I've had to get stiches up there once, but luckily no piece of brain came flying out that hole.

And just to warn you, Delta testing would technically be happening later that Beta testing. After Gamma testing, even. What you probably wanted was the word "Alpha", but I'm no expert. They must do different things in different countries nowadays.

Really? I've always travelled on the choo choo train of thought that alpha version was the optimized, final version, and that subsequent letters had direct variation with incompleteness. Counting with numbers is different, because you might consider this to be version 0.4 or something like that.

Well, Swivel, you choo-choo-choosed the wrong train of thought. Things go into alpha, then beta, then release, generally.

Tee-hee! It's says "I choo-choo choose you", and there's a picture of a train on it!

Sorry. Everyone saw it coming.

I wonder if anyone has any comments on the architecture itself. Good? Bad? Ugly? Do you just not want to download a conquerers only hold on the architecture board?

I refuse to even attempt that Mud room, it looks painful and not worth my effort. :(

A lot of these puzzles are really cool, though, even if I have no idea how to tackle the Slayer and Trapdoor one.

Great! I'll make the mud room into a secret room. Oh, and with the trapdoor puzzle room, you have to lure the slayer somewhere where he can't escape.

Thanks for your comments. I've been mostly away from the net lately.
