Welcome to not dr0d, a hold that plays more like not pr0n, The Puzzle Boat, or Dumb The Game, the web-based puzzlers it was inspired by.

Of course, I ask that you refrain from posting any sort of spoilers on the board, although hinting is encouraged, as long as it is done in secret tags.

This hold will not have high scores enabled in any of the rooms, as I find high scores to be a poor representation of what this hold is about.

Thanks for playing, and good luck!

I suggest that you push through it. One of my concerns was that the first room would be too hard.

Okay, I definately need to work a better hint into the hold. I think this first room is probably one of th emore difficult ones.

A general clue:

An explicit clue that won't get you all the way, but probably most of the way:

And a more explicit hint:

I tested this too. However, I do think it's different from NotPron in at least one way. I don't know why, but even though I got to 74 at NotPron, I couldn't even beat the first riddle without help :lol

Oh well. It's a great riddling hold, and I'm glad I beta tested it too. I'll refrain from rating it, as I haven't even seen most of the thing.

Sounds like you're almost there. One final nudge:

I've updated the hold to include a few hint scrolls in the first room. The last thing I want is people to give up right after this one, since I think the later rooms are much better.

I've uploaded a new version of the hold with the following:

-Additional hint scrolls in the corners of The Hub Room.

-An additional line of speech in The Greckle Slots.

-A scroll notifying of (but not fixing) a bug in The Pickensass Town Choir. Thanks to lurker Tahnan for spotting that one.

Can someone confirm for me that these updates have occurred? The file size doesn't appear to be changing in the attachment up top.

Actually (he said, coming out of months of lurk-mode), I had this problem as well. But I've had it for other holds that other people clearly had no trouble downloading, too. Fortunately I didn't overwrite the original version.

Now, if I could just get through this ! room, I'd be all set.

Having seen the first 3 puzzles I assume we're playing with word puzzles in this hold. I absolutely love word puzzles and think its a fantastic idea. The problem is I dont understand the games. The hub room has adequate explanation, but the next 2 rooms have none at all. Would you consider adding some hints to the game? Or posting some for each room? Just some concept of what to do for each puzzle.

Dancing with wubbas while staring at letters is driving me slowly insane!

The rest of the puzzles I have no clue where to start. Anybody have any good hints?

I thought about the idea of including hints within the hold, and I do to some extent, but I decided to let people who were really stumped seek hints on the forum. That said, here are a couple of general clues to get you started.

Wubba Wuv:
Click here to view the secret text

Get Your Blood Pumping:

And you might want to avoid the mindset that these are neccessarily *word* puzzles. Yes, the answers are all five-letter words (except for the final room), but letter manipulation isn't always needed. The solutions will come to you with a combination of observation and deduction. And sometimes there are clues you can pick out from dialogue or puzzle titles. Answers are at least vaguely topical.

Also, I encourage people to go ahead and use the hints and solutions board for this hold, so all of the juicy hints don't get stuck in this single topic.

I figured out the hub room with the hints in the scrol,
it's a nice way of thinking.

The blood pumpin room, I had enough with the hint above.
spoiler:

The wub room, I now going to start.
I just read the hint and suddenly the solution of the
bloogpumping room jumped in my head.

Robobob3000, you have an odd way of thinking,
almost as odd as mine :D

Unfortunately I'm away from my DROD computer for the week of Thanksgiving, but I'll be back to try and solve the corruption issues with this hold as soon as I can.

I have no idea why this is working for some people but not for others.

We'll it works for me.
I got the first one because of your spoilers (!thanks!)
now im puzzling on the second ones.
I've figured out two of the wubbas (i think) by looking at the protruding parts.
in the get your blood pumping i can't find out anything either, i've tried charting what question appears where, sorting by size, always adding the first or last letter in any combination, etc.
the problem: I'm still stunped :? ;) :huh
any suggestions?

It certainly isn't drod, but it is interestingly different.

I had the problem with something missing from 3N1W, but when I tried importing the hold fresh into a separate installation it was ok. I think there was a hold update at some point which I had to get, so maybe that caused the problem? Not sure how to test it now though. :/

Anyway, the other thing to note is
