This is an expanded version of my potions n bombs hold (also on this forum). It has an added level in which you meet the Grinfidel, puzzles mostly involving golems (and scripting) and a final level added (hopefully exciting combat-type room). Warp stairs from the first level if you've played the others already.

I have only played through 3 rooms (I suppose 1S doesnīt count ;)) and I just have to say I love it. I have played the entrance, 1S1E and 1S2E. Only one comment though. Do you really have to force me to put a decoy to open a door? The sound gets pretty anoying. Otherwise you have some exelent puzzles where you have to think rather than hack and slash your way through tons of monsters.

Ohh... Evil... I had to play through the first level twise. I forgive you though since I enjoyed the level very much (including the secret rooms). I have just played the first room of the second level. It is also very nice. Maybe itīs just stupid to post here since I really havenīt got any comments except that I liked it and since I havenīt played the whole hold yet. If so, please tell me.

Thanks for the comments. I realise the decoy-orb thing is annoying, but since it needs to be there to play 2 roles, I don't know how else to do it. Adding an additional mimic seems inelegant. I usually play with sound off, so hadn't considered the annoyance.
Glad you're enjoying it. I'd especially value comments on the second level, since Tim already helped find lots of unintended solutions on the first, but the second is entirely new.
Especially welcome comments on the Grinfidel-orb puzzle: too easy/too hard?

Ok I have played the whole level exept for the stupid room where the Grinfield says "Iīm not sure your intelect is up to this one, youīll have to think several steps ahed" (I did the rest of the hold via the editor). The orbpuzzle is not really a "figure out puzzle". Itīs more of trial and error(in my opinion), so I donīt like it that much. But it wasnīt particulary hard to figure out. I still like the hold very much (but the room which questions my intelect makes me feel so stupid :~() I guess iīll have to try it out some other time.

I can't say I agree with you. What's trial and error about the orb puzzle? I would say the solution lies in

Yeah, I get your point. It's changed now so that it's less of a chance finding/trial and error solution, but it is now therefore more obvious and easier. Added 2 rooms which you can use the editor to play if you've already played through the rest.

If there's no more problems I'll put it up on holds soon.

You make such wonderfull rooms! However I think that the forcearrow/golem/bomb room might contain a little less golems. Once you get the idea youīve solved the room in principal, and itīs a little too much work. Too many laps around the bombs (a real minor thing). You might want to add a checkpiont as well. The other golemroom is just as it should be. Hmm regarding the Grinfield orb puzzle itīs hard for me to know if it is that much more trivial (since Iīve already solved it). At least itīs not trial and error anymore. It might be good to hear other players opinion on that room. Also you might want to concider to move the blue door in order to allow players that get stuck to continue playing. Well... good work!

Hmm. I suppose itīs pretty obvious, but Iīll say it anyway. I definitly think this hold is better than most of the holds Iīve played in the holds section.

I belive you have made some major mistake. In the room by the stairs the Grinfield does not hit the orb (as he did before). Thus I might just go and kill him, but I canīt make it to the stairs due to the trapdoor.

Ok, very nice (exept for the error) but one really minor change would be to remove a door and a orb and a decoy in the first room. It wouldnīt make the room any easyer (since the placement of the doorstriking decoy was really obvious) and it wouldnīt scare away people due to the disturbing sound in the first room (I donīt know if anyone could be that easily disturbed, but why take the chance?). I know you could turn of the effects sound, but everybody might not want to do that. Oh, and the finale is really worthy (perhaps you might want to make it a bit more difficult though. It is the final room after all). And the new secret was kind of fun and neat.
