I've read earlier threads on this and other forums about how to solve the Svartalfheim crystal puzzle to get into nidavellir. The clue to how to solve it is "figure out the order of which crystal makes which crystal glow, which doesn't make another crystal glow and then enter the sequence backwards".

The correct sequence is

but I've got some trouble figuring out the logic behind this.

Out of the crystals, 2 doesn't make another crystal glow and no crystal makes 4 glow so after removing them the crystals that cause the others to glow are in order

Only 2 crystals can be the start and end of the sequence, 2 and 4, but is there any reason 2 is first and 4 is last?

Sure. #4 makes #1 glow, then #1 makes #3 glow, and so forth. Therefore the sequence ends with 314.
