Surely, I must perform a trick similar to the one in the unrequired version of the room, that is, creating a pocket from the snake's body with a diagonal entrance, so that the snake becomes unbrained and wanders onto the plate - but where and how to do it, so that it's positioned properly for the plate, and there is enough time for Beethro to get to the exit?
