I think this is now impossible with the force arrows pointing downwards. They need to point up.

Issue: KDDL Ep 5: Seventeenth Level 2N2W:
There is a black door. These didn't exist in KDD. Would add a scroll saying: "To drop the black door you need to clear all the tarstuff from the room".


Unintended solution? KDDL Ep 5: Mastery Level: 1W:
I assume the intended solution is to keep the snake alive to deal with the situation to the west side of the room? This isn't needed if you use the mimic.

What's the magic sequence to escape Episode 6 Level 25: 2S2W? The usual procedure used in KDD2.0 doesn't seem to work.

Perhaps the orbs have been rearranged, but the general technique should still be the same. Just look at what they do, and remember that you can hit an orb twice in one run, but the 'Neather never will.

Okay. How can you say the solution was not broken when disoriented followed my solution, had an issue, you said there was a mistake and I repeated the solution before fixing and found it leads to the same issue disoriented had and after one change in my post it now works?

I am confused.

For what it's worth I managed to solve that room yesterday, while the roach eggs were growing too quickly. Feel free to try and clear that room while making your first move a wait, if you want the extra challenge!

Really enjoyed replaying KDD in this new context though! I first played AE around the time that JtRH was released so this was a blast from the past for me. I really liked how it's been kept mostly faithful to the original but with a select few parts tweaked to be less tedious. For example, making it so you can easily traverse rooms in L15 once you've solved them once. The achievements are a fun addition too, I'm mostly finished with the game but still have a handful of those left to do.

A few things I've noticed:
- After a long search I'm still missing a secret room in Level 23. I did see a secret wall that leads nowhere, and I noticed that, unlike with the other holds, I could get to the mastery content without having to clear every secret first so this may be intentional while the game is still in development. I'd just like a nudge as to whether that secret is actually accessible!

- I think I satisfied the "Softlocked" achievement (I did it in L25 1S2W), but I wasn't credited for it. 'Neather was certainly surrounded on all sides by monsters or walls, and he was trying to move but couldn't.

- Speaking of the 'Neather, I managed to kill the roaches in the final room without killing him first. Green door considers him a monster so I had to do that anyway, but I'm pretty sure that AE makes it impossible to deal with the roaches safely if he's alive. I think because 'Neather is after the roaches in movement order, so they don't move on the turn when you hit the orb.

- There's a way to crash the game in that room too. If you stab him but then say yes to sparing multiple times, then undoing will crash the game. It's fixable by refreshing the browser and then restoring to the room so not a permanent game-break thankfully, and admittedly a decent fix would just be "don't do that then". I also noticed that if you stab, spare, and undo then it'll ask you the question again. But if you spare after undoing like that, 'Neather won't move out of your sword's way. Could be that that's related to the crash, the game's expecting 'Neather to be somewhere he isn't.

- In the final challenge of each hold, it's possible to clear the room (and leave) even after "failing".

I see from previous posts that Episode 5 has a mastery level, but how to access it?

Also, the "die 51 times" achievement in Episode 5 is ridiculous, even compared to the reduced numbers in the other episodes. Of course (some) players are going to attempt to clear the episode and get all other achievements without getting the "die N times" one, even if there is no official recognition of the feat. Of course it's still possible with the reduced numbers. But in the other episodes it's at a reasonable number, and this one just isn't.

Hidden in the usual way, but the entrance room isn't marked as secret so the restore screen wouldn't have given any clues.

I agree about some of the die x times achievements, I ended up dying and undoing on repeat at the end of some of the chapters. Still, at least it only takes a minute or so to achieve "manually"

You folks are just too good at this game. The achievement is set to be 1 death per required room in each episode and I can easily match that. But maybe that's because I run into the room first and then ask questions :D.

I'll nerf the number in all episodes. Are the undos at least reasonable?

That's actually two bugs I had there which prevented it being rewarded.

That explains the imbalance -- deaths obviously rack up much faster in the tar horde level than in a quiet level like 9 or 15. Not sure what you mean by "nerf"; it sounds like Albert wants it reduced still further, while I'm arguing for episodes 1-4 to be left alone and the number increased in episode 5 (haven't tested 6 yet).

The undoing achievements are fine as far as I've noticed. There's usually just one room somewhere along the way where I undo a lot because the checkpoints aren't great.

Ep 4 has two acheivements called "Hunter Games". I think the one for visiting every room in original level 13 was supposed to have an explorer themed name.
