Thanks to those who tested my hold. I have corrected spelling errors, added save points, and altered the final two rooms a bit to make them more fun.
I am attaching my updated hold here.
How does one ask to add the hold to the HOLDS board?

Larry :rolleyes

Actually, I have a comment on your hold which I haven't mentioned, because I've just now discovered the problem.

I've been playing your hold in the beta version of DROD 2.0, and I've reached Middle of the Journey: The Entrance, a room I had a lot of trouble with. After playing it a lot of times, it seemed to me that I'd tried all possibilities. I eventually imported your hold into DROD 1.6 (the current version), and played up to the same point. It turned out that the serpents behave slightly differently in the new version, making this room unsolvable in the current beta version of DROD 2.0.

Since there's still quite a bit of time until 2.0 is published, you should go ahead and submit the hold to the Holds forum. But be forewarned that you may need to remake the Entrance to Middle of the Journey when 2.0 is released.

I'll also bring this up with the dev team in the (hidden) Beta forum. If the behavior of the serpents change in a later beta version, I'll let you know.

Thanks for the info. It would be nice if they could guarantee the exact same behavior from one version to the next.

Yes, go ahead and submit it. I'm not sure why there's a difference, but I am sure Mike will get to the bottom of it. The only thing I can recall about serpents and brains might have to do with force arrows...since rattlesnakes can go over force arrows but serpents still can't (I think), brains might be instructing them the same way when they should be separate. Since I haven't seen the room I have no idea if this could apply though.

Game on,

icon Re: Odyssey hold ready? - FINAL ROOM CHANGE (+1)
I have just made another change to the final room. If anyone gets a chance to check it out that would be great. I believe you now have to employ the strategy I intended to defeat the room.

The updated hold is attached.

Any comments are greatly appreciated.

If all seems OK, then I'll ry submitting this hold in a couple days.

We figured out the problem, and it's fixed now. Your hold should work flawlessly once JtRH comes out. So you won't have to redo anything.
