As you all probably know well, the early Quest For Glory games couldn't care less which class you were as long as you had the relevant skills.
Only in QFG3 and above they started having class-only side quests. And even then it wasn't all around (for example, in QFG4 the thief side quests were open to everyone with thief skills).

How is Heroine's Quest in this manner?

Puzzle solutions are skill-based, and if you happen to have a cross-class skill, you can use the solution intended for another class.

However, NPCs can generally tell what class you are, and will react accordingly. For instance, Aurvandel will treat a character with magic skill differently than an actual full-fledged sorceress. This means that certain sidequests are class-specific.
