Help! I'm stuck on the two tar rooms on level 24 in the bottom left corner of the level. How do I get past these? I don't see any way to get through on either of them, as all paths to the tar mama appear to involve going through a 2x2 block, which is impenatrable, isn't it?! Ahhhhhh! Help!

Sigh...look for paths between the two rooms. That will get you your solution. Many other posts on this board deal with this room.

Other than a move sequence I don't think there's much to say. This level is basically a tougher version of room 8:7S3E.

Thank you! Now I see how to kill the eyes in both rooms--I was starting on the left room and trying to work to the right room for the longest time :) By far the biggest hint was the answer being 42... ;) Actually, you helped me a lot--I'll give this a shot and hopefully I can figure it out now! :)

I have killed both mothers but can't reach the exit. I killed the one on the left first then right one. Now I can pass to the bottom of both rooms. I tried to get out from the right room but it seemed impossible so I passed to left now it seems impossible, too. Please help. :huh

To get to the exit, you just need to go back the way you came. Of course you have to be careful as the tar won't re-grow any more.

Every time I've solved it, I had to go out a different path than how I came in. The path I took in maybe impossible to get through when the tar doesn't grow (or I just couldn't figure it out).

You know, I have a "policy" that whenever I enter a room, I stay with it till I solve it, or I'll never go back to it. The tar rooms frustrated me far enough to go look at both sides. ;)

Maybe that's why so many of your hold levels are linear... My style is very different, so I get annoyed at that.

Sorry if you're annoyed. I just think that the player would prefer not going to the restore screen and looking all over to find exits to rooms he missed. Still, there are a couple of different levels.

True. But there's a happy balance, I think. Your level 14, for instance, where there are a lot of rooms you can do at any given time but they're arranged in such a way that you can't "lose" one is really nice. Still, it's definitely a matter of style, and in your hold you should do things your way, not my way.

I think tar is fun. I'd prefer less of it (three levels of near-solid tar with roach queens in between was overkill by three levels of near solid tar with roach queens minus one room if you're lucky), but the OCCASIONAL tar room lets you think in different directions than non-tar-rooms do.

Yes, tar in moderation is fine, even though it can be very tedious for even experienced smiters to deal with.
