I spoke with Skrymir and he told me I needed to offer him something before being able to challenge him. I got wings from a crate where I saw the blacksmith hiding something. Skymir accepted the wings and started the challenge.

I have to win in two of the three trials to win the contest. I always lose on the first two (running and eating) and with some luck I sometimes win the combat. My issue is that I have no idea of how to win the first two ones, I'm a wizard but magic is disabled so I feel kind of lost.

Any ideas?

P.D.: I won the running trial by giving alchohol to the spirit before starting.

P.D.: (2) I beat him and got "mead of poetry" but I'm still interested on knowing how to win the eating trial.

I added a frozen flower to the food. He won't eat it. I'm a warrior with significant magic ability.

I was hoping the mead would give me new skills, I tried twice, once with climbing and the second with handling animals, but I didn't notice any difference.

It gives you bonuses to skills you already have as long as you have them. Test out a few

In first trial you can give phantom mead. It makes him slower.

After that, use the Tinderbox on the flower and you'll succeed. You'll also get some Thievery experience for it.

Or, you can simply climb yourself and use your sword to cut the flower.

Technically the Rogue isn't really supposed to be able to use the sword in that way, it's the Warrior's method of doing things.

The fact that the Rogue can equip the golden sword at all is a glitch, if I recall correctly.

In v1.1, the Mead of Poetry will allow you to get a new skill instead of improving an existing one.

The Mead of Poetry can be given to someone who has lost their memory...maybe someone who runs an inn...?

If I may necro this thread, any advice on how to beat the final fight as a sorceress? The opponent seems to take very little damage from all spells and the staff.

You mean Egther? You use specific spells to counteract his spells.
