In our last Illumination, we presented a contest related to guessing the game title appearing above the Progress Bar for Caravel's Next Big Project. Congratulations to TripleM for being the first to guess the new game title correctly:

But that's not all...!

As you might have noticed, there is now not only one Bar on the Caravel Forum, but TWO! Madness! Nothing has yet been spoken aloud, but the Interloper Bar appears to have moved right on in and is now running its own Bar Puzzle. Clicking on the second bar will periodically drop goodies your way!

What could "The Other Big Project" have in store for us? Is this a Progress Bar space race? Just a friendly match among Bars? A full Bar-on-Bar rivalry with no holds barred? One thing is for certain -- when there is a Progress Bar competition, these bars each seem to want to work that much harder to get to 100% first! Good luck to all the Bars in this duel where everybody wins!

Architecture by Hand, an official forum contest

Dischorran has contributed a neat forum contest for February. In it, you draw a DROD level by hand, then use the "DROD: The City Beneath" level editor to import images into the game. All floors, walls and pits in your level must be of the "custom image" variety.

You have until the end of February to submit your entry. Winner receives a free prize from the prize pile, and all entrants receive a contest credit. Earn eight contest credits and you can request a free DROD game.

That's funny, I see at least three bars up there and occasionally hundreds of bars but those seem to eventually settle back down into three.

I only see the two, though the second one has yet to drop anything for me. First one gave me another sword.

Oh, I was just joking, because I only saw one bar and figured the second hadn't actually been implemented quite yet. But I still only see one bar up there, even when logged in.

Ha, I found this months news the funniest thing for a while. Reading the "Is this a Progress Bar space race? Just a friendly match among Bars? A full Bar-on-Bar rivalry with no holds barred?" part always cracks me up.

So I finally got out the pen and paper and figured out what it would take to make that second bar appear.

Unless I'm mistaken about what unlocked it (and/or unless the second bar's click-count is in error) that's a whole lot of clicks for a mere 60 people (now 61) to make over the last two or three days. An average of ~384 clicks/person?

If my own experience is any measure, that's not a whole lot of clicks

There are only a few days left, and we don't have a huge number of submissions yet. While I'm sure a bunch of you are polishing your entries over the weekend , for the rest of you, an uncrowded field means it's your chance to win big and make me feel loved! (Or just win big, if you prefer.)

Three days is kind of not much time to design a hold, let alone 'design a hold, draw it by hand, scan it, re-jigger the images to look right, and test it so it doesn't look insane'.

One day I do want to hand-pixel an entire hold, though. It'd just be /so infinitely huge forever/ filesize wise.
