I would wear a tight suit and cape. The suit would display the letters 'EAP', for Edgar Allan Poe.

Hey welcome, I guess! I guess you and I kinda in the same boat regarding our DROD skills in a way? I've personally had an aversion from holds rated with a difficulty level of at least 7 brains (5.5 is probably my sweet spot for now).

Welcome to the forum @Kaelyn and @Professor Tio (And anyone else who may be lurking in the shadows ready to join.

I definitely remember starting out with DROD and basically bonking on anything over 6 brains. This game can get super complicated and it can be nice to have some fun old-school 5ish brain holds to work through when you're starting out. There are plenty of fun holds at that level from back in the day, but newer holds do tend to skew on the harder side. There are a few newer holds that manage to capture that feeling of a fun romp though. I'd recommend checking out "The Adventure Of John"

It's mostly hack & slash, but a fun little hold with neat level art. Delta Dungeon, Roaches and Walls, and Island of Adventure are also newish holds that are light on the difficulty and heavy on the fun.

Hello! Heard about DROD through Jon Sonnenberg, who did the soundtracks for three of the games. I'm a big fan of his music, so I figured I'd try the games, and here I am beating my head against the wall of King Dugan's Dungeon, lol.

Which Arnold would I be? The kind who has grown kids and is still somehow a badass.

About me: I hope I'm not insulting anyone when I say that I don't like Arnold Schwarzenegger one bit. I discovered the forum when I played Heroine's Quest for the first time, and I came to play Heroine's Quest because I was looking for a point and click adventure (or something similar) that wasn't based on the old and incredibly boring story of the hero rescuing the girl. Thank you for coming up with something fresh!
And since you asked me to describe my kind of hero_ine, I'm gonna go with Sydney Bristow, heroine of Alias, a tv show that should not have been forgotten. She knows what she wants, she goes around kicking asses and no matter what people throw at her, she always bounces back.
That enough for a start?
And, by the way: I registered mainly because I'm stuck in the Heroine's Quest rogue class and I think I'm really screwed this time, and wanted to ask a question about it. But now you have intrigued me with your mention of logic puzzles. I'll probably check that out first

Vainamoinen is a caracter I like more than any Arnold.
First because is one of the avatars you can choose on the 2002-03 Leylines game. And second, now that I did some research, I also like it because of the finnish god.

My motivation to enter here is about the old Leylines version.
I like it sooooo much. So now I'll go somewhere else to post my question about this precious geme.

Eh, I'm not really a huge movie fan, to the point that I'm not sure I've ever watched a movie with Schwarzennegger in its entirety
However, I'd go for another character and say that if I was a kitschy villain, I'd be Premier Cherdenko from Red Alert 3. A Tim Curry character from a game that caricatures low budget Cold War movies can't be that bad of a character to play with, right?

Hi, everyone!

I've been playing the game in the past, but always lost my saves due to uncool circumstances. Now I just want to play through all the games in the newest engine and have a cloud save, so I'm considering getting the very affordable subscription.

I'd like to consider myself as a hero with an alignment somewhere between neutral and chaotic good. I'd love to be like Schwarzie (his pre-Hollywood career as a bodybuilder in His prime), but the fact that I'm not going to use steroids makes that an unachievable dream. At least I can swing my sword across swarms of brain-teasing bugs.

Love the game and thank You for creating unique experiences! I love breaths of fresh air across all industries.

Long time player/reader, first time poster.

I can't remember the first time I played DROD, but I've always loved the games, and wanted to revisit them recently. I'm a mac user and I've been having some issues getting the games to work properly, so I figured it was time to create an account and try to get in touch with the right people. Based on what I can tell, mrimer—you seem to be the resident mac expert and still appear to be active on the forums, so I'm coming for you .

Oh, and I'm having trouble thinking of a specific hero/villain—I've always thought of myself as sort of a chaotic good sort of guy (cuz it seems cool) but in truth I'm probably somewhere between lawful good or lawful neutral haha.

DROD 5.1 runs fine on Mojave, but not Big Sur (not sure about Catalina). I've been running Mojave in a VM for now.

Others have reported success running the Windows version of DROD using CrossOver on Big Sur.
