When I went up the staircase in Ice Caverns: 1N9E, I was sent to 1N3E, an earlier room. Since I can't backtrack to Journey to Ice Caverns: The Entrance because of the doors in Journey to Ice Caverns: Once East, or go anywhere else interesting or hold-ending, I'm going to have to declare this hold impossible.

My guess is that you didn't bother to playtest your hold, and assigned that staircase to the wrong level.

I'll comment more thoroughly later, but I'll say for now that this is an OK low-difficulty hold that isn't very polished and comes close to stuff I would call "puzzles" except that most of them revolve around finding secret walls or hitting a lot of orbs, rather than anything cerebral or lynchpin-like.

This is not necessarily a fault, but it did mean that since I am a trained smitemaster, I had no problem killing any of the monsters, even in rooms like 1N8E, which could be difficult to an untrained smitemaster.

Before posting them, please finish work with this hold.

I've just started playing this, and must say that not putting checkpoints in first level is sadistic. :? (especially in 2S)

Also, there's a backtracking problem in 1E: if you kill the monsters, without leaving the room open all yellow doors, red door, cut all the mud and leave one of spawned babies unkilled, you won't be able to clear the room if you leave to the south.

Putting, say, conquer token somewhere on black door would solve the backtracking problem.

Okay, I've played through it, so I'll comment on a few of the rooms,

Journey to Ice Caverns -
Has some small, very easy what could be considered puzzles that might catch out beginner players. You could cut out one or both of the rooms 3S1E and 4S1E as they are basically unnecessary.

Ice Caverns:

1W -
The crumbly walls aren't needed to make this room possible. You could take them out to make it (slightly) harder.

1N4E - This room over-does the tar, in my opinion. You could make your point with a lot less tar than there is. You could perhaps have it in different shapes to make it slighlty more challenging/interesting?

3N1E - Same with this room. And what's the point of the wubbas?

1N6E & 1N7E - I found both of these rooms rather tedious. There's nothing particularly challenging about them and this is mainly what let it down for me. You could at least add some checkpoints.

That said, I think it's good for what it is, and a nice short distraction :). Generally, you need to add checkpoints to some of the rooms and maybe add some decoration to those with large open spaces (i.e. 2S & 1S1W).

You didn't fix backtracking problem in "Journey to Ice caverns" 1E. I screwed up with conquer token on black door since it seems that you use JtRH. Well, some kind of monster surrounded by black door(so you can kill it only AFTER cutting all the mud) would also help.

Oh, sorry, didn't realise that you marked it as unrequired, nevermind about backtracking problem then

You have a problem in JttIC 1E. The orb at 36, 1 does not currently open the gate in the corridor. (I assume it did at one time, since mxvladi and Kwerelous were able to continue in your previous version.) As I can't proceed until this is fixed, I can't offer any more comments, except wonder why the NPC is saying "Thank you" at the Entrance.

Also, I didn't see any checkpoints in "Journey to the Ice Caverns". As I already said, some checkpoints would be very nice.

And I doubt there's a way to solve 4S 1E.

Journey to Ice Caverns 4S 1E: I can clear the room now, but if I exit to the north after that, I won't be able to drop all the trapdoors(there will be 2x2 tar blobs without tar mother eyes on them when I reenter room from the north, and they will be on trapdoors).

Journey to Ice Caverns: 4S 1E - I'll add that you should definately put some checkpoints in here - I made a mistake at the last tar mother and had to start from the beginning again. A checkpoint at each tar mother, perhaps? And you can fix what mxvladi said by simply taking the trapdoors from under the tar.

Journey to Ice Caverns:

4S 1E - much better! :)

Just add a checkpoint or two to 2S, 1S2E and 6S1E and I think you're pretty much finished with this level.

Ice Caverns:

1N4E - yes, this has improved. The open doors on the floor to block the mimics aren't really needed, mind you.

1N5E - I quite liked this room too. There is a lot of leeway, though - I did it with about twelve moves to spare, and I'm sure it could be done quicker with a more efficient player. Not that this necessarily needs to be changed.
