Unfortunately, the Mafia is quite savvy this time around, and both of the Mafia kills on Nights 1 and 2 were revolver kills, thus implying that the Vigilante could be armed with a revolver. I'm inclined to deny that hypothesis but I'm forced to admit it exists.

I see no mention on a revolver kill on night 1. In fact, on night 1 all we know was that Monkey died with 'large bullet holes'. Since Monkey is organising this and not even truly playing, I believe this was an introduction to the game - nobody would know to send a PM about killing the organiser.

From what I see, we have one revolver kill (Stigant), and two shotgun kills (NiroZ and Sillyman). Sillyman was found with the revolver.

It seems rather obvious from this that the Mafia kill with a shotgun, and Sillyman was a Vigilante who killed Stigant, then was killed.

Also, there was a weird noise. There could have been interference with the Mafia/vigilante's kill... ;)

Monkey, people have already asked at least once that you don't edit your post.. for this exactly reason.

For everyone else's info: Monkey's original post said the Mafia's kill.

You were a lurker too until that post :P Why haven't you revealed what items you are carrying yet?

Anyway, Monkey's post confirms that the Mafia kill was blocked, meaning Chaco is probably correct. Sillyman is thus likely to have been a mafia; perhaps all mafia have the same weapon.

I realize I'm dead, but this is more about the running of the game than about the game itself.

I don't think the game master should want to fool anybody. Your job is to make the game run smoothly and add some color so that people have a good time. That's it. You really shouldn't be on anybody's side, or giving hints or participating in any way that affects the outcome. I'm sorry that that's such a limited role, but its part of the reason that nobody likes being the game master.

Well, this game is a bit pointless, with nobody having a clue what anything means, and half of the people barely posting at all. If those that aren't posting are disinterested with this game, perhaps they can all mass-suicide.

Chaco - I suggest you kill nobody tonight. If, eg the Mafia decide to also kill nobody to frame you, that can only benefit the town. Since you really have no more information about who is Mafia than the rest of us, it's probably best to save the extra kills for when we need them.

Yeah.

Then yes, I must say:

Okay, I was mafia. But I'm thinking we might be utterly harmless now that we've lost our hitman, which might be why our kill didn't go through. Kill the "Vigilante", I think he might be a SK.

My item is a book on manipulating time, just so you know. I know saying this will get me killed, unless there's a doctor around somewhere.

Book on manipulating time? What use would THAT have? :\ Not that I want to know any roles, though. :P

I'll hold back my vote until something suspicious arises.

(OOG: I might not be here for the next week or so, since I might get hooked on my presents or World Of Goo level making, and we have a lot of events planned)

You really can't guess? Why don't you read the discussion since the last kill thoroughly and think of the use it may have.

Hey, guys. I'm talking as an outsider here: Since it seems that many are unsatisfied with this ultra-secret closed Mafia, I'd like to start my own open mafia, so you can choose between open or closed. (Also, I'm scared of playing, since I'm usually the first one dead) If you'd like me to start an open game, just give me an a-ok and I'll post the signup thread. :)

Nope. Never heard anything about manipulating time in a Mafia game before.

Nope. Never heard anything about manipulating time in a Mafia game before.

Me neither, but that doesn't preclude either Monkey homebrewing some rules about that in there, or tom just lying about his items in an effort to save himself.

In case you change your mind, my setup would be the following (borrowed from a crazy mafia guy on mafiascum.net all rights reserved, with a few modifications):

2 Doctors (1 Weak, 1 Normal)
4 Townies (1 of which is a naive Miller, one of which has a one shot Unlynchable ability)
1 Cop (Who doesn't know who the deputy is)
1 Deputy (or backup cop, who doesn't know who the cop is)
1 Cop Enabler (Once killed, the cop and deputy lose their power)
2 Pro-town lovers (commit suicide if their partner dies)
1 Serial Killer
1 Psychiatrist (can cure SK)
1 Mafia Framer
1 Mafia Executioner (one shot ability to lynch someone with have the required votes by PMing me)
1 Pro-town Lyncher (gets special powers after killing the target)
1 Pro-Mafia Traitor (Mafia cop that appears innocent)
1 Pro-town Lie Detector (night action: sends me someone's post to determine if it's truthful or not. Loses ability if someone finds out about it)

So, 18 people, 20 with two extra townies.
