icon Quest for Yrolg: kill the heroes! (+1)  


Deep within his dungeon, Yrolg the necromancer is about to summon a mighty demon to complete his plans to conquer the World. Three brave adventurers, a warrior, a rogue and a sorceress, have come to his underground lair to disrupt the ritual and end his reign of terror. Your job is to stop them!

As a lesser minion of darkness, use your wit and guile to lead the heroes into traps and to a nasty demise. Should they succeed, your Master will be slain, and the world shall be covered with flowers and puppy dogs. That must never happen - this time, evil shall prevail!

A new adventure game by Crystal Shard, available for download here. Now with voice pack!

Mmk, major criticism right off: I can't count how many times now I've come close to setting things up to discover that the hero already entered. The hero really shouldn't come until I'm ready - no puzzle is improved with a timing element, especially a hidden and unexpected one.

So far, I've beaten the fighter but the rogue always seems to come too soon.

The hourglass at the beginning shows the remaining time until the next hero.

Still, I kind of agree. These kinds of games tend to be more fun when you can explore and make decisions freely.

Funny concept, though.

I totally agree. Why not make it so that the heros will only appear when requested (by talking to the mug).
This doesn't detract anything from gameplay.

I have Finally got around to playing it.
I Like.

First thing I noticed was the cursor.
I Like.

Second thing I noticed was the music.
I Like.

when I start the game, the first thing I notice is Muggit.
I Like.


The only criticism I could give is about the speech font.
the AGS default font clashes with the smooth sprites.

I could just as easily ask this question on the AGS forums, but how do you make objects that can be put down in any spot?
I've tried a few different ways, but none of them have worked.

In the future, could you please start a new thread (on this forum is fine) for such questions? Thanks.

What I did in QFY was using characters rather than objects. If you pick something up, place the char in room 0; if you put it down, place it in the current room.

I'd say you've got a fairly good chance, what with the opposition.
