This is the final entry in the Witherwood series, preceded by 'Witherwood Castle' and 'Below Witherwood'. You don't have to have played either of them to get through this.

Eight levels packed full of puzzles and tricks to understand, with a voice-acted storyline running throughout. While not the hardest of TCB holds around, this one is tricky. If you make it all the way to mastery, then there's a special surprise.

Another excellent effort with high production values. This hold isn't the equal of Below Witherwood...but it's still good and fun.

I give this hold an 8 for fun and 7 brains.

Being one of the voice actors and an involved beta tester, I feel quite justified in saying that calamarain has once again produced a fine work here. I encourage those who have upgraded to DROD 3.2 to play this hold and comment upon it. :)

(Also, watch out! There are some tough rooms, even on the first level.)

Ugh... there was a mistake while patch installation. A certain file was denied or something similar.

"Did you run it when..." AAAAHHHH!!! ...when installing the patch! Sometimes people are stupid. :lol The game was running meanwhile.

Best place to ask about this is on the Hints and Solutions Board. Click the "Get Help For A Room", and select that hold and that room. If no-one else has asked for help already, then you can create a new thread about it.

You draw them or get someone else to draw them. Then on the Characters Screen, you can customize characters, and get them to use a custom avatar. You then import that image.

Do not use anything that you do not have the copyright for.

Hey Vike91, I've already seen a few holds with modififed avatars. Have you seen that the sounds are often placed with the normal text editor, so that you can add other sounds and/or delete some ones?

Meanwhile: be warned! There's a forthtracking issue in this hold. That is: it's possible to backtrack from Splicing Facility, 3 South; you can go back north from that room. But don't, because once you've conquered 3S, you can't get back through from the north again.

Forthtracking? Bleugh! I eliminated everything on the backtracking side at least.

Regarding that, fortunately it can be easily restored around. There are no secret rooms or any other rooms attached to 1S or 2S, so there's no need for you to go back from 3S once it's done. Thanks for pointing that out, none of us in the betas spotted that!

I'm surprised this hold doesn't have many on-topic comments, because I felt that this was easily the best of the Witherwood holds, or at least the puzzles were the most interesting to me.

Each level has a very clear visual theme, often with a slightly more loose (depending on the level) theme to the puzzles. It begins with some relatively simple lynchpin/manipulation, moves onto a much more lychpin-focused approach to the main custom monster from Below Witherwood (an approach that I preferred), and is slightly more general after the citizen and rock giant level after that. Each level has a mix of difficulty, but overall it gradually increases and there are some very tricky rooms towards the end.

If you like lynchpin and/or manipulation rooms, this hold is definitely worth a look. And personally, it was very enjoyable to see calamarain's style as an architect slowly develop throughout the course of this trilogy of holds. I can easily see how he was chosen for a SMS. :)
