Note: This gets into can-of-worms territory very, very quickly, especially with a bit of digging. Let's keep it amusing and light, okay?

DROD.net is 92% good, according to Gematric analysis, which attempts to determine, taking the mathematical patterns in the Bible as 100% good, how good or evil a passage of text is.

Examining just the forums gives us an even split, 50-50. Interesting.

Putting in random links:

www.webfootgames.com is 71% good
www.go-gaia.com is 65% good
www.puzzlepirates.com is 56% evil
www.penny-arcade.com is 63% good (as of writing)
www.churchofsatan.com is 81% good
www.blueletterbible.org is 63% evil

A fun little toy, I must say.

Matt

The above post without my signature is only 1% evil (even if I do the text version with the devil smiley spelled out). When you add my signature it becomes 28% evil.

"Game on" is 50% evil. Not sure if it means anything though, since it is so short.

My first name is 99% evil. Adding my last name makes it 96% evil. However, once you add my middle name it suddenly becomes only 1% evil. Apparently it's because suddenly there are 7 vowels in that phrase, which is good for whatever reason.

Game on,

My first name is 50% good, 50% evil. Adding my middle name makes me 81% good, and adding my last name to that makes me 99% good, for some reason.

"deadly rooms of death" is 98% evil. The Makefile I use to build the Linux version of DROD is 53% evil.

"Windows" is 99% good, while "Linux" is 99% evil.

Both "God", "Satan", "good" and "evil" are 50% good and 50% evil. "Yin Yang" is 99% good.

Also, "evil" written 4 times is 99% good.

This post, including this line and the signature, is 48% evil.

See, there's a reason why I sign off as Matt.

My profile's only 52% evil? I'll have to work on that. I was hoping for something exciting from my website, but it's only 2% evil! Bah!

Chris is 1% evil
Christopher is 99% evil (hmm...)
Chris Marks is 33% evil
Christopher Marks crashed the server, then returned 1% evil
adding my middle name to Chris gives 1% evil, and adding my middle name to Christopher gives 2% evil
DiMono is 1% evil

The page I'm typing on to reply is 35% evil
And finally, the text from the gematriculator page itself is 29% evil

Interesting - like others, I have a 1% evil first name and a 99% evil full name. Adding middle name gives 33% evil. Krammer is 80% good

My signature - first verse of the esteemed nonsense poem Jabberwocky - is 97% good, thus proving nonsense is a Good Thing.

Hmm, lets see:
George Bush is a 50/50 split
Saddam Hussein is 96% evil
Osama bin Laden is merely 20% evil
Tony Blair is also 50/50

Scarily, God is a 50% split...
Jesus and Jesus Christ are also both 50/50.
For a Bible-based algorithm it seems to be just a little dodgy...

My .sig is 93% evil. Apparently there's something wrong with things that make the engine go WHOOSH!

The phrase "Smite the Infidels!" is 74% good, while the phrase "Support all terrorists" is 99% good

The joke "What do you call a hundred lawyers falling from a plane? Skeet!" is 83% good, proving that even God hates lawyers

The quote "Not even God could hit a one iron - Lee Travino" is 84% good. I'm not sure what that means...

Edit: just added: Star Wars evilness!

George Lucas: 99% good
Jar-Jar Binks: 99% good. Guess he's just stupid
Anakin Skywalker: 50/50
Darth Vader: 99% good
Darth Sidius: 99% good
Darth Maul: 67% good
Millenium Falcon: 99% evil
Boba Fett: 99% good. Guess he's just misunderstood
Han Solo: 99% good
Luke Skywalker: 99% evil
The Emperor: 50/50
Star Wars: 80% evil
The Empire Strikes Back: 80% good
Return of the Jedi: 99% good
"A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away..." 99% good
Princess Leia: 43% evil
Chewbacca: 99% evil

Dude, did you forget your Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade?

Iehovah is 99% good, but then again so is Jehovah. If you look at the details below the rating though, Iehovah has more going for it so I think it is more good but you can't have a value be 0% or 100% it looks like.

For the record, also, yahweh is only 75% good.

I'm thinking either the algorithm's wrong or the reasoning behind it is crackpot.

Reason: Pick a random Bible passage, and run it through. I can't remember the Bible passage, but I got 47% evil.

That's what I think, as I said above. I would like to add three more things.

1. Probably there would only be 100% if you fed the whole Bible into it, and maybe not even then. If someone feels like doing that, tell us.

2. Sites like that are rarely genuine.

3. On the menu at the top of the page, one of the links is named "xxx". Did anyone ever know a respectable site that has a link like that?

http://xxx.lanl.gov/

It's a perfectly innocuous site. Trust me, I get Physics papers from there all the time, and even have a few of my own up there. Perhaps that's not what you meant though.

Anyway, while the whole site is tongue-in-cheek, it is based off of a theory that someone thought was very true. If you actually follow the links on the page explaining what it is and read them, you'll see that, like any good theory, it only takes the parts that agree with it and ignores the rest.

Homokaasu has a reputation for being very tongue-in-cheek. You won't see many sites implementing a Flash game called 'The Kill Everyone Project'.

Of course, we're travelling into areas I'm not sure we want to go, because I reckon some people will try and make the leap to theological discussion, and I'd rather that not get all over the boards.

For some reason, I don't think too many will know this off of the top of their heads. Fortunately, I have all of the words to all of the Pythons ever made, and in looking it up I have found the answer. So, I would have failed if this was a question/answer on Jeopardy. There's a couple of ways this could go, because the sketch kinda blends into the next one in that odd Pythonic way. But, the answer is

I don't know what the scene's called, but I could look it up if so desired.

Add-on bonus trivia: Which episode number are both of these scenes in?

There's two!

The first one is a torture scene with (cue dramatic music) the comfy chair! and the other is when they're racing to an appointment at the court house during the end credits.

Matt, who wants his million dollars back million dollars not legal tender
