My family arrive for Christmas tomorrow and the next 2 or 3 days are going to be busy; much cooking of rich foods and eating of same and (under-18s look away now please) drinking of fine wines will take place, and sadly all of that will leave little time for computers. The chances are I will not be back in the site until the 27th, so may I wish everyone here all the felicitations of the Season. Wherever you are, however you celebrate at this time of the year, may you have pleasure in all that you do and may your days be filled with warmth and friendship.

Wrong side of the world for that (it's summer down here), but at least we got the sun back. It was looking pretty miserable a few days ago -- on Saturday alone we got more rain than we'd get in an entire average December.

A belated Merry Christmas to everyone. We had a white Christmas. Unfortunately, our snow was several days old and had thus mixed with the sand and such that they put on the roads to help people actually stay on the roads, so we had more of a light beige Christmas.

Well, the appalling weather we've had for the last month has relented sufficiently to allow me to drive down south to Fife to join family for Christmas. I will have no access to the web there so will be "incommunicado" for the best part of a week. So may I take this chance to wish you all once again the felicitations of the season
