this is somthing ive been wanting to do for a while, but have never gotten round to.

the categories i have picked out are:

monster mazes(what I often refer to as The Stew Boy stile[my personal favorite])

speedys ( ones tyhat you have to do really fast)

rocks, gems & dirts (you know the ones, thingemo & thingemo make them lots[sry cant remember their names])

slow dont stuff it ups(like Factory Repair)

fast dont stuff it ups(like factory repair, but you have to do it much faster)

two or one players(like one at a time, they are supposed to be done two player, but i do them one player

two players(obvios)

slow and steady puzzles(the ones were you have to make a move then figure out what to do next)

pure skills(its all in the wrists[and the fingers and arms])

trickys(when you know that there is something you dont see)

mazes(its a maze. duh!)

plz tell me if ive missed out any styles, and you can tell me the real names of the "rocks, gems and dirt peeps too

Multiple choice would have been better, but I went with "Slow and Steady"

I like easy puzzles, ones where I don't have to think too much. I like mazes as well.

That's my style? I actually didn't notice. I suppose it is, most of the time.

I like levels with an interesting or artistic layout. Such as the Symmetry level from the original set, and the Rettangoli by Gemma.

That, plus thoughtworthy puzzles.

I prefer levels that make me ask, "What were they thinking?" Or even better, "Were they thinking?" :P

I also like levels with more than one character with the same set of controls (e.g. my "Fab Four" level)

It's in the "New Levels" thread, as part of a pack I submitted back in February '07; it hasn't been added to a levelset yet.

My vote goes to 2 player (but "Munchkin Stock Exchange" type levels are kinda nice too...) and "Crazy" (was that it's name?) (one with a rapidly spinning playing field) was great :D .
Most ST2 levels are quite nice, but I hate... [dirt, rocks round walls, an exit and almost nothing else.] Ok?

This post is too big already, so I'll stop typing here.

Sorry for Mr Wonkyth, not my intention to pester him with any levels.
I never even dreamt of manifesting such an utter dislike for ANY level at all, every single effort being valuable, and often suggestive, in one part or another, of some good hint or idea for other levels.
Rettangoli marked a season when I went back to composing levels, after months in which I seemed incapable of doing anything, so I'm rather affectionate to it.
I'm very glad Radiant appreciated it. And hopefully a few others!
Anyway, happy new year and happy 2007 Contest!

while I'm rank #4 in ST1 I'm rank #9 in ST2.

I don't vote, multiple choices needed!

My favorites:
Rocks-gems-dirts-walls: they often cross over with:
Slow and steady puzzles: Coal Mining for example.
Trick levels: they seem difficult, until you find out a small trick that makes them very easy. (example: Happy Twins)
Twin players: controlling two people with the same set of controls? Woot! (I usually attempt to block one of them as soon as I can, and if I can't do that, things get challenging) :lol

I'm partial to two-players puzzles, solely because I can't get used to WADX and Backspace and Enter... gah, too many keys! Why not a simple switch of controls per Tab?
Also partial to monster mazes.

I HATE don't stuff it ups, I stuff em up. :lol
Trickys can be fun, if there's a sufficent clue onto the trick. Can't find such clues on Euler though! :no

I guess that would defeat the purpose of the phrase Two-Player.
only being able to cotrol one of them at the same time wouldn't work for some levels.

(warning: minor spam) Then you'll love my "Fab Four" level in the 2007 contest set.
Can't find such clues on Euler though! :no
Part of the level is actually hidden. The arrows control a mover; if done in the right order, the mover will flip a switch, enabling you to use the hard mode exit.

As far as I can tell, there's no clue to find. I found the solution purely by trial and error.

Now I for one don't believe there aren't ANY clues on Euler. It would go against the spirit of the whole game, which is a logic puzzle, not an expeirence in trial and error -- even with secrets in tutorials and secret levels.
So there MUST be clues SOMEWHERE.
But I can't find em.

And Euler has a huge amount of combinations, since you can branch at any fork, and there are A LOT of easy mode solutions. You must have been either very patient or very lucky.

Sure there's a clue to Euler. It's hidden in plain sight. One of the design intents of SubTerra was not to do "hidden" stuff (like invisible walls or passages-that-look-like-walls). So yes, there's a hint. It's not in the arrows, so logical elimination tells us that the hint must be in...

Those are good, but they can get boring. They're even better when you put some kind of twist to them: insanely low time limits, multiple players, etc.
