I was wondering what people think of having holds in two parts? Is it bad taste to continue a story through several holds? I would like to know what you think.

I wouldn't really mind multiple hold, like trilogies. There are a couple of series already, like "King Pilchard's Dungeon trilogy", and The Grinfield series.

It would be a good idea to split the two holds up, if there are a vast amount of rooms. :) Hope that helps!

Sure, I don't see why not.

I hear some nobody game company split their DROD hold into a trilogy, though they're thinking of making a fourth. There's some side holds to it, even.

Continuing a hold through multiple parts is fine... as long as it does get continued. There are few things more annoying than an unfinished series :) Looking forward to seeing the *whole* thing.

I suggest not making it so that someone has to play all the parts.

Look at King Pilchard's holds. Look at MetDROiD.

Somebody can fully enjoy MetDROiD Echoes without playing either of the other two MetDROiD games.
That's how your holds should be.

So continuing a storyline between holds is, dare I say, unfair.

I wouldn't mind a two-part, three-part, or even ten-part hold. Go for it!
:thumbsup

This is exactly the reason I absolutely HATE JTRH and TCB with all of my heart and soul. It's horrible the the storylines are based of of previous installments! That means I am completely forced to play the first one first! O:-

Come on Ezlo, I've only played 3 levels of JtRH and in TCB I'm up to... well past River Dugan anyway. JtRH was nowhere near as AWESOME as TCB... but yeah, tastes differ.

well, you could be like 'for a recap thus far' in the intro level, and let them wander through a sort of movie flashback thing to get them up to date?
