Probably because it's not the intended solution. I think the intention was for you to get the mimic onto that second platform, then go through the cleanup routine remotely. Doing it yourself would certainly be faster though.

Doing it yourself certainly seems to be the superior solution - it's hard enough getting rid of that gel without having to think about where the mimic is as well. ^^;

I was floored by this, too, but naturally used it.

Now I have completed the room using this trick; I'd love to see a solution using the intended method.

Is there any way of looking further down the list of solutions in CaravelNet?
In this case, and others, it's not the minimum number of moves that I want to see.

Thank you Nuntar, that was informative: nearly twice as
long as mxvladi's solution, but more elegant.

It's interesting to me that the complex shenanigans
to remove the third gel mother are actually easier
using the intended solution, because the mimic is
unaffected by gel babies.

Those moves involving a single eye are quite counterintuitive.

I can soooo smell The Second Sky now!

I got the challenge in this room, even though I totally killed the mimic after getting it over the disarm token. Here is the demo, as asked by Nuntar.
