The chat seemed to go down while I was playing; is it just me or are there stability issues? If there are stability issues, when will they be resolved?

How come there are so many character portraits we aren't allowed to use?

Two questions:

Why we can't use all the faces in the editor? I've also got the full version.

And why custom npcs tiles aren't transparent with 192 192 192 color?

You have to make a character based from Beethro in Disguise.

You can, just some are only on certain lists.

Use .PNG transparency (you can have semi-transparent NPCS!)

The portraits are embedded in the hold itself. Architects may do the same thing.

So we don't get him? I don't get it. No one can match Erik's artwork, so everyone is going to want to use that portrait if they use that character, which I know I want. :huh

You don't get to use it - it's not part of the publicly released parts of DROD. If you want to have that character (or any other from TCB with a custom graphic) in your hold, you should ask Erik for permission to use the graphic, and if he gives it to you, someone will send you the picture file. I'm assuming that once stuff settles down a bit Erik might decide on some general policy here as to when (if ever) he will grant permission, since this is now a bigger issue than it was in 2.0.

I'm pretty certain the answer to my question is no, but on the off chance I'm wrong, well, I just want to be sure so I don't buy something I don't need. Is an additional year of caravelnet included with the purchase of TCB like it was with the initial release of JtRH? Sorry if that's been addressed before.

Isn't there supposed to be a way of locking the room so you can't walk out of it accidently? I know it was listed in the confirmed features for a long time. If it's in, how do you do it? Locking the room would have come in handy in the Interlude level I just did.

So, this whole "dual installation" thing. What reasons are there to keep DROD 2.x installed on one's computer?

Hmmm. In case you want to make a 2.0-only hold and not have to remember what the elements and script commands area? That's all I could think of for now.

A question for you "flawlessly consistant" types:

The very existance of the Rooted Empire is supposed to be largely hidden from surface-dwellers, right? They're a completely seperate society that even Beethro - an experienced delver - had never heard of before opening that door in Dugan's dungeon.

So how come they use the same greckles as everyone else for currency? Shouldn't they have their own?

Oh, yeah, they do. They use Canadian Greckles, while abovegrounders use Greckles Sterling. The exchange rate happens to be 1:1, though, and by an amazing coincidence, the minted coins have the same pattern on them, so it's not uncommon to mistake one for the other :lol :P.

...An amazing coincidence completely explained by the use of an Infinite Improbability Drive near the Eighth long ago, when the Empire was newly formed.

Flawlessly consistant! :P

The City layout and much of the inside was Erik, and Mike did most of the filling out of the rest. Eytan did several rooms, and Adam probably did too, but I didn't add anything to that level. Well, that's not true, I added some scripting and one or two other very small things.

Game on,

Actually, I did most of the current layout of the first half of the city (until the Gate of Naming), though I did base it on Erik's original layout, of course.
