Is it necessary to eliminate all of the tar? If I try to I inevitably leave a stranded tar baby in the middle of a wall and I can't get to him.

No, you don't have to kill all the tar. Just figure out where the walls are, and then be intelligent about destroying it. I remember this room took me several tries...it can be tricky. If you get stuck on removing the red door, ask again...this room has a little trick to it in that regard also.

Game on,

Ok, I finished all of level 9 rooms in 1 1/2 days with the exception of 1N1W. Any hints?

Thanks, everyone. I've been on that room for two days. I do like level 11, though.
