While they aren't exactly new, I still think they deserve praise: A while ago, I found a really nice freeware adventure game, done using Adventure Game Studio. It's point and click, with a nice horror theme to it, and it's called 5 Days A Stranger.

There is a sequel to the game, called 7 Days A Skeptic, linked from the above page. There's also a third game called Trilby's Notes that was released a while back. From what I understand, the creator is working on a fourth and final installment.

I've played these games, and can heartily recommend adventure fans everywhere to play the series (in order; 5, 7, Notes)! But note that they do contain blood and violence. Specially Trilby's Notes, which can be .. sickening. But still! Good games.

(Trilby's Notes isn't point-and-click, btw. It's got a text parser!)
