Yup, you win... Having played 93% of all 2d soccer clones, I can seriously recommend this one.

Not as good as sensi perhaps, but easier to play with a keyboard, as the swerving seems more responsive (sensi regurlarly has my fingers coming off the arrow keys - doesn't happen with NSS3).

Well, I could be pedantic and say it's "The Ur-Quan Masters", but since that's the source code and assets of the 3DO version after some baking on SourceForge I guess it still counts...

Probably should've used a more obscure game, though - then again, do yourself a favour and play that game at least once...

Ah, but this isn't the Accolade PC version, at least I doubt that one uses SDL, several scalers, has speech and comes with source code...

And they couldn't name the open source version "Star Control II" as Accolade (or whoever gobbled them up) still holds the rights to that name - just hope they never make a "Star Control IV" that's even worse than "Star Control III"...

the screenie you posted contains insufficient information to distinguish the two, however (very few screenshots could, however. to show SCII as different from SC:tUM, I could include screenies showing some the very funny dialogue which they brutally snipped out of the game, or to show SC:tUM as different from SCII, I could show, um, the options screen?)
