Build 29, but it happened in build 28 too (I upgraded just to test this):

1. Create a 2x2 set of rooms.
2. Delete the walls of the adjoining rooms (a la Neatherville) so it is like one big room.
3. Place a statue at the corner of the room. Three of its four squares should be blue.
4. Go one room up--the bottom left squares are blue. Try to place a statue on the bottom left corner.
5. Enjoy a crash to desktop.

Note that if you do this not in a corner, the new statue just disappears (i.e. it doesn't let you place it). And if you try to place the statue in the upper right room, and then try to place a statue in the upper left room, it also disappears. So this is the only setup I've found that crashes.

Not a really big deal, because you can just place the statue so that it is on the screen in its entirety and the blue squares disappear. Actually, I guess the bug is that DROD crashes instead of just disallowing the statue like the other situations do.

Pretty obscure bug, no?
