I am a HUGE fan of the AE and played it to it's completion about two years ago. Now I am looking to get back into it and want to purchase either Journey to the rooted hold or King Dugans Dungeon. Can anyone tell me the differences and post some recommondations for which of the two I should purchase? Do either of the two offer anything unique?

Very little information is available. So if I don't hear I will probably go with JTRH because it's the sequel and probably newer. (not sure if that means 'better' which is why I am posting.) Thank you

Okay, here's the deal.

Both JTRH and KDD2.0 have the 2.0 engine, and an editor. Here are the differences.

JTRH

*Is the sequel
*Uses the new elements
*Has a more involved plot
*Is slightly more difficult
*Has a secret extra area.

KDD2.0
*Doesn't use new elements
*Almost all rooms are exactly the same as there AE counterpart
*The only major difference between KDD2.0 and AE, is that 2.0 has more talking, and it now has some extra secret rooms that are hard to find.

You decide which you want! I have both.

When you buy DROD you get the actual game (DROD 2.0) and one or more holds (JtRH or KDD2 + The Choice).

I believe KDD2 + The Choice is still available on CaravelNet for anyone who registers this month, so I recommend buying JtRH and CaravelNet membership.

Since you already beat AE, JtRH makes the most sense. And then if you are able to get KDD2.0 through CaravelNet, it won't cost as much and you will get many other high quality holds as well.
