I poked through the review posts down below and could only find a mention of DROD being mentioned in Computer Gaming World, which is not the same magazine as Computer Games. Soo, here the mention is:

*Note*
This image is huge because I scanned the entire page instead of clipping the mention out.
CGM DROD Scan

CGM did an issue dedicated to classic RPG games, which is where the mention was. As you can see, they got the URL wrong, citing it as drod.org instead of drod.net. Too bad they chose to display an image of Webfoot DROD instead of JtRH. Meh.

Well, it's still a nice little mention, and I will take it!

Sometime between now and tomorrow, http://drod.org will take you to http://drod.caravelgames.com. I will keep registering domains each time a reviewer gets the URL wrong and eventually end up with several hundred.

Cultly acclaimed?

Marketing Strategy: Target cult leaders. That seems.. efficient?

Hmm....

(but seriously, a print-mention is cool :) )

As a writer-guy, I have to say I'm surprised at inaccuracies like that that are so easy to check on.

True, I think I misrepresented CaravelNet a bit, but that was more due to my own misunderstanding of it. I had checked it out before I wrote about it. And, hell, I didn't get paid to make my mistake.

The URL, though... it's just so easy to get right.

Anyway, awesome getting print press. Congrats homies.

Here's a cropped/scaled version of the above scan, for those who just want to see the bit relevant to us in handy bite-sized format...

drod.org now redirects to the new DROD homepage.

Cindy Yans... I even directed her to a copy of JtRH to review, and then somehow she comes up with this screenshot. *sigh*

I agree that...notoriety...can be good.

Man, I'd better change the text on those older version pages now, just so the people coming in from there don't get confuzzled.

Hey, should we celebrate? Wasn't that screenshot the first ever screen taken from TCB? Phew, thanks for the leak!

If anyone's looking for me, I'm somewhere deep in the basement.

Except CGM would call that "celebritily endorsed".

I just found out from Todd "39th Slayer" Downing that we got a mention in the March issue of CGM as well. Wow, somebody must be rooting for us over there.

"How do you sum up DROD? It's not a puzzle game, it's not an action game - it's a little of both. The basic, free version is a 2D classic. DROD junkies will also be happy to know there's a 3D version available at tlkgames.com."

I believe there was a bit more including an URL to drod.net, but this is what was reported to me by Todd, and I don't have a copy of the magazine.

Congrats on the mention, even if accuracy seemed to suffer a bit in the transition.

To quote Graham Chapman (as Oscar Wilde): "There is only one thing worse in the world than being talked about, and that is not being talked about."

Which is actually a real Oscar Wilde quote. ;)
