Up until now (check time stamp) I thought your screen name was "agricarus5". Man, I feel really stupid.

That's alright... It's an easy mistake to make. :)

Hmm. "Agaricus" isn't really that long a genus name - there are much longer ones out there. The longest I can find beginning with "a" at the moment is "Auricularia", from the specie name "Auricularia auricula-judae", Family "Auriculariaceae" :D

I think it's standard practise to underline the Latin names of species when you write them. If anyone knows better, please tell me!

Well, in the Humanities, when quoting Latin (or any non-English) words, you typically underline them in handwritten/typewriter texts and either underline or italicize (with the latter preferred these days, apparently) them in computer-typed text. I assume that the same convention probably applies here.

Yes, I remember now. thanks. I agree that italics are better in computer typed text, although my Biology teacher said underlining is also fine. I'll go change the above post.

The name "Jonathan" is just as long as "Agaricus"...just an interesting tidbit :) Latin just is harder to remember because it's not as common.

And rearranging the letters of "Latin" gives you "a lint" which is something you pick out of your belly button and throw away...or save it in a jar for a Guiness record...a stupid Guiness record.
