Okay, so I'm re-entering the room from the bottom right.

I'm also able to get to the mimic. But where to put it?

Should I somehow be able to light the fuse before getting the mimic? I can't manage to do it without getting overwhelmed...

A subtle hint would be much appreciated... :wacko

You can take the mimic before lighting the fuse. It just doesn't really make a difference in the solution, because you need to get into the center anyway. The mimic won't help you with that.

After all that, you need to find out where to put the mimic. There seems to be only one place that lets you advance further. I'll leave finding that to you

I'm having problems with the very end of this room. I've managed to light the fuse and make it to the mimic, but I can't kill the babies in the middle section with the 3x2 tar blob and trap doors.

×7, 1 over on the left and 6 to the right. 4 straight down (with bombs interspersed) and two in the next row right just SE of me. So when I make the dash with sword SE I have too many to get rid of before I have to face the one coming from the left. How do I get it down to 3?

Whoever, devised this hold (Jacob) deserves some congratulations for devising something so evil. I have failed compeletely on the first 2 rooms - should I continue or will I have to keep calling the helpline?

i must go a few steps back, i have a big problem to survive in the center of the room (second visit):

i'm starting at 1 with the sword pointing N, walk as fast as i can to the orb at 2. after hitting the orb i'm facing E, so i have only a few moves to turn and reach the central area (at 3) before the second spawn. i could need a strategy hint...

Having just completed this myself I'll give a few hints, if that's not enough I can be more explicit. Firstly read all the previous posts they are very helpful, once you are in the central section.

Now perhaps someone can help me with my own problem with the room.

I could find only one place to put the mimic that got me anywhere. That enabled me to enter the room for the third time. But then what do I do? as far as I can tell the only sensible thing is to

. But then I am stuck I haven't killed everything off and I can't go anywhere. Doing anythign else is just the same as the 2nd time round (isn't it?). Have I done the worng thing with the mimic on my 2nd visit? Help!

Oddly enough, that worked only if I paused (struck "5") once after lighting the fuse. Who'd'a thought -

Also, where does one go from here? I can enter 1E from two different directions now, and blow up part of the room repeatedly, but nothing useful happens . . . I've been over all the trails I have access to, but I can do nothing besides unproductive travel.

OK, sorry to be a pest, but I've gone into this hold repeatedly and scoured the available track space for something productive to do. Now that I've completed the Entrance, 1N, and 1N1E, only 1N1W and 1E look semi-promising . . . . but there's no way that I see to proceed. (In 1N1W I can access only the mimics, in 1E I can only blow up a portion of the monster population.)

If it's not polite to tell me outright, a cryptic hint will do.

I have conquered the hold. But now I want to master it, and something about this room is still puzzling me. ...

Hey you guys, after trying to find a way to the mimic potion im still baffled as to where I can put it. After clicking all orbs I am still confused about which one I should ake the mimic hit. A clue please?
