may be i'm not the first who ask for this, but there is not enough time to check out all the 35 pages of this board. so here wo go:

when a hold was updated then in some cases a messages will come in the menu 'change location'. when i use this feature:
is it normal that after updating the hold starts completely new?
makes it a difference if i download the holdfile via forum and import it to the game?

I'm pretty sure there is a mention of this behaviour somewhere... problem is, I've forgotten *where* exactly.

When you update an already imported hold, you will not get the option to Continue your game, and you will start a new game right at the beginning. However, your Restore screen still works as before, and allows you to Restore to any room you have been in prior to the update.

So, use Restore after having updated a hold. Restore might behave oddly if the update has altered the layout of the hold, but you should be able to find a "safe" restore point somewhere. In one hold I tested, my latest recent point ended up being on a wall, surrounded by walls, with ever more walls around, following an update. I didn't know Beethro could travel through walls.
