Again, I really don't like asking for hints, so let me just ask..

I end up exactly one move short doing that. I think I'll relent to being given normal hints now.

Amazingly, there are different ways of solving this than what I intended.

My method is:

I don't really get how that saves me a turn, but it does :D

I wouldn't mind more details...
As far as I can count, you can allow the last baby in the line to be delayed exactly twice. If it's delayed more than twice, you can't kill it and get out in time.

During the first sweep, no matter what you do, the last baby is blocked once by a bomb. Am I correct here, or is there a way to have zero delay that I haven't seen ?
My problem is, during the second sweep, every row is full of bombs or babies, and I absolutely can't avoid losing 2 turns because of the horrible bomb placement. The last baby always gets delayed twice.
So I'm always 1 turn short.
I tried using the room dissymetry, to no avail.

What's the trick ?

OK, I've tried this room over and over - with variations - using these hints -

and this assessment:

I've tried entering with the sword pointing both of the two non-pointless directions - southeast, northeast - and I get close . . . I am one square away from victory when the bombs go off. So . . . what is making this so difficult for me, while others breeze through?

Thanks -

Wow. I could have sworn I tried exactly that several times. Now, with proper adult supervision it works. Thanks!

I'm missing something here. Is there any purpose to waiting 3 turns, as opposed to moving W then waiting 2? Also, I'm putting my sword either NE or SE. Is that a probblem?

Curses, larrymurk!

As a side note, 2S does not describe me right now.

I assume you mean moving E. Yeah, you can do it that way too:

Posting here in the hopes that doing so will magically permit me to see what I'm missing in this room. I keep coming up exactly one move short. Doesn't seem to matter whether my sword is facing SE or NE (although I think NE seems correct...).

Need a quick shove in the proper direction...

please?

Thanks Larry! A significant *duh* moment when I actually viewed the demo.

(I was going to comment about how much easier Perfect 6 was, but then I saw 1N...still, 1S1E and 2S were pretty manageable.)
