So either someone gets 2 things (but someone already said that this is wrong) or I misunderstood the meaning of "opposite" and "other side" (which should be the same)
Note the possessive pronoun, though:

His other side.

This is not the same as "opposite".

What I've got here on the side is basically a diagram to help you work the puzzle out; It's the same thing you'd see if this was in a logic puzzle book. It makes life a lot easier if you need to do these things vaguely kinesthetically.

I mean, if you don't know how to use the diagrams, that's not my problem, I can't totally handhold you, but...

I still dont get it (sorry I am stupid).

His other side... what exactly does this mean now ?

a) If he is North then the milk is South
b) If he is North then the milk is West or East
c) If he is North then the milk is South or West or East
d) If he is North then the milk is North
e) other (please explain)

If its c or b I have the correct solution.

Ungred sat next to someone eating a horster leg. The glass of milk was found at the place to his other side.

This is to be taken as a whole: He has a horster leg-eater either to his left or right, and a milk-drinker to the other side. (left if leg-eater's on the right or vice versa).

Have 2 mod points for that. Now the puzzle is quite easy (because I did about exactly few months ago, only it was about cars, hobbys and locations instead of hats, food and drink.)

I know what fegundos are. They taste like chicken.

That's been pre-cooked.

And horsters must taste pretty much like... well, the closest word to horster is holster, so go eat one on my behalf!

I think you will be able to find out what a fegundo is at some time in the (near) future [mental self-poke :pokey]. They are rather hot even when not cooked, so you can actually eat them rare.

Well-done fegundos are also popular, although there is much debate about exactly what they taste of. Most agree, however, that it's an acquired taste.

Edit: Um... This is again a strange negative mod. Did I forget to mention something?

Okay, how about...

I think you will be able to find out what a fegundo is at some time in the (near) future because the information will be on the site...

There. I didn't want to say that, since I don't want to spoil it before we've finished, but that might make it more clear.

hi folx,
i know by myself that it isn't easy to solve such a puzzle in a foreign language. so i (and my dictionary too) do not know what is a 'horster', a 'fegundo egg' or 'leafjuice' (i think this are some unique foods/beverages in the lands of d.r.o.d.). but however: to all the people who not so good speaking english i tried to translate the puzzle into german. the translation may be not 'very high exactly', but i think that german-speeking fellows are able to solve the puzzle with this. means: when the language is the major problem ;)

to all others: sorry for any delay :?

There's fauna that aren't monsters, so the horster might be one of those. Lemme tell you about umbrella bees sometime.

Honestly, I wish I never used the term "monsters". It feels like a bad inheritence from the 16-bit DROD days. How is the distinction made from one creature that is a monster and another that isn't? I dunno.

I just relized there was a contest, ouch. Kept looking in "The Illumination" for a newsletter.
Good thing it only took me about an hour to do. I agree it is like the Moriarty game which I like very much too. I solved this using the same concepts of elimination used in that game.

I am looking forward to the contest :D
