This is a very simple game that leads to very interesting posts. Here's how it goes:

I make a post, and then I add a rule. The next person must make a post that conforms to my rule, and then can add or remove a rule too. Also, it's recommended that all posts include the rules it will be following, so people don't have to scroll through the thread to find them all. Assuming he added a rule, the person after that must make a post that conforms to both those rules, and then add or subtract one. So an example of the first few posts may go like this:

This is a forum game

Add rule: Must begin with a vowel.

Interesting idea

Add rule: Must contain exactly seven words.

All peanuts are brown, even blue ones.

Add rule: Must end in the same letter it starts with

Interesting how Paris Hilton doesn't like cacti

Subtract rule: Must contain exactly seven words.

All aboard the Omaha

Add rule...

and so on. If there are no rules, it just means whoever makes the post must add a rule since there aren't any to subtract.

So let's give it a try, hmm?

Add rule: Must contain a maximum of 3 of the vowels aeiou. Any amount of each, but max 3 different ones. Edit: So the above sentence would not work (it contains 4) with this rule.

I think I will add to this.

Add Rule: No word can contain more than 2 of the same letter. Eg you can't include banana in your post.

Just a note; the rules currently in effect are:

- Must be a song title.
- Post may not be more than nine words
- The post must be at least 15 letters (not counting rule additions/subtractions)
- Must contain a maximum of 3 of the vowels aeiou. Any amount of each, but max 3 different ones.
- One word must contain a double letter (like, ss, ee etc).
- No word can contain more than 2 of the same letter. Eg you can't include banana in your post.

Rules are cumulative, remember! You need to subtract rules in order to have any freedom to actually post, because honestly? Good luck finding a song title that's more than fifteen letters, less than nine words, has less than four different vowels, has a double letter and can't have duplicate letters. We're starting to get into bureaucracy territory here.

Marrakesh Night Market (thank you, dear Loreena McKennit). Three vowels, three words, more than 15 characters, one double letter, and no more than twice the same letter in any of the words (the A and R of Marrakesh).

Substract rule: Must be a song title.

Note that the Stew Boy only banned words containing more than two times the same letter, so two is fine (but three isn't), and it doesn't contradict any previous rule.

I think it would be a good idea to include in your post the rules currently in effect, just so people don't have to keep scrolling through the game to find the next one.

Current rules:

The last two posts both ignore the "at least 7 words" rule.

And "bookkeepers" has 3 'e's, so that post broke 2 rules.

What happens with posts which break existing rules? Are they allowed to change the rules, or should they be ignored?

Tenet: topic's current ruleset proving unnecessarily difficult.

Replace rule: Each word must have at least 2 syllables
With: Only 2 words may have less than 2 syllables.

(If I'm not allowed to 'Replace rule' then make this a "Subtract rule" instead).

I really don't think it's possible to write 6 multi-syllable words plus 2 mono-syllable words in less than 15 letters. Even if the 2 short words are 1 letter each, that leaves 13 letters for 6 multi-syllable words.

How about: the proposer of a new rule must follow their new rule, just to prove it's possible?

So if you're adding a rule, you have to obey it. If you're subtracting a rule, you still have to obey the rule you're subtracting.

It says at least 15 letters, not at most 15 letters. I thought it was implied, though, that discarded rules aren't followed any more. My example posts in the starting post demonstrated that.

You missed Stigant's new rule:

That's what I was saying wasn't possible. It's not possible to break all discarded rules.

I'm going with Chris' suggestion (if you propose a new rule, you show it is doable). It also allows to solve the current matter, as the "no more than 15 characters" thing doesn't seem to be possible.

Well, I'm not sure if I should take precedence here: your own solution is a lot more subtle than mine, and is within the framework of the rules. Nobody said the sentences had to be written in English, or that shorthand forms were forbidden, and even the greater rules of the forum allow you to use other languages than English. Well done!

Either way, both our posts get the job done, though there is a difference of rules. Still, if the discarded rule still bothers someone else, I guess it will go down pretty quick.

Other instances, Anna realizes it's all garbage.

Delete rule: One word must contain a double letter (like, ss, ee etc). Change Anna to Bob and all to buried to follow the rule.
