The program has a banner that shows some of the latest news. It would be nice if that was posted to a feed URL so that it can be accessed.

For example, google.com now has personalized home pages. If you go to www.google.com and click on the personalized home link, you can log in with your gmail account and there are multiple options on what you can have displayed on your home page. There is also an option to "Create your own section". In this section, you can supply a web page and it will have a permanent link to that pages feed.

If DROD had a feed, then the latest feed info can be posted every time that I open the internet.

Just a suggestion. I really don't know how difficult that would be to implement, since I have never done anything like that before.

Just looked into this a bit. I don't know that it would be that hard. Apparently, the person just links to a .rss file on the server that will be changed for news and stuff. This .rss file appears to be a simple XML format.

I think Schik's pretty keen for this; I've been wanting to see a forum feed for a while, and the news feed might be useful except that we seem to be going down the newsletter road there.

There's no harm in doing both. I like RSS feeds, Firefox lets me use them as bookmarks.

Yeah, the Live Bookmark thing is really cool. I haven't really used regular RSS aggregators, but having them come up as bookmarks is a clever implementation.

I have been playing around with feeds. They are actually quite simple. I created one for my site and it isn't that hard.
Here is the feed address:
http://freewebs.com/bradwall/News/Index.xml

I wouldn't mind helping to keep it maintained if needs be.
