I'm stuck on this one; I've read the previously posted hints, but can't get around the top lefthand area to get the final orb. I encounter three tarbabies arranged such that I can't kill them without them killing me as I'm blocked by a tar blob.

It's difficult without knowing exactly where you are, but as there is only one way through, I suspect you are in the following position, and haven't yet learned to step diagonally to kill monsters. Apologies if I am wrong.

(ascii diagram deleted because it looked a mess. Hopefully it'll still make sense)

Kill the top two tar babies, then turn your sword south east and step north east.

At what part in the top-left area, specifically?

Bandit-I have learned to step diagonally to kill monsters

Matt, I'm in area #4 and can kill the first monster but my sword is pointing the wrong way to get the next and the tar prevents me from doing the diagonal step

Matt, that helped and I finished. I'm still not sure what I was doing before

Thanks

In that case I apologise. When there isn't enough information, you sometimes have to guess.

No problem, Bandit-it would be impossible to finish this level without the diagonal step, and I didn't give much information.
