Personally, I am hoping that some more styles will be introduced to JTRH, but from what I can gather, that may never happen (I hope it does though), so how about a way to change the hue of the walls and floors seperately with a slider? So you could make the purple walls in Foundation red, turn IceWorks into green slime, and the like...

I have been using custom floors to make different coloured levels, and I think it looks really neat, but when crumbly walls and some types of door cave in, it leaves the other type of floor behind which can look ugly (but other times looks really neat).

Ok, I think there's something that needs to be clarified. It's not simply that new styles will not be added to JtRH. New features will probably not be released for JtRH. DROD 2.0 is a released product. It's supported by Caravel, and they will release bug fixes and other things that are necessary, but it's not being changed in any significant ways.

This feature request board is in place to discuss features for future versions. And no-one said that new styles won't be added in future versions anyway. In fact, Mike just revealed that one feature of DROD 3.0 will be allowing addition of user-made styles. So this feature will become redundant anyway.

Disclaimer: I'm speaking here as a forum member, not as someone on the dev team. As far as I remember, I never got official word that what I said above about no new features for JtRH is true, it's just how I read the situation.

Good point. I got that impression too, about the suggestions being for DROD 3 now. I still think this would be hugely appreciated feature for DROD 2 users, though, if it could be squeezed in with little time being spent on it.

I'm really looking forwards to DROD 3!

I can think of a problem with the suggestion - the graphics are currently far too complicated for a hue slider to work effectively. You'd have to recalculate the sprite for every position on the slider and change every pixel to an appropriate colour. Not impossible, but very difficult to do so that it looks good. And more trouble than it's worth.

The RPGMaker200X series seems to have come up with a particularly good hue slider that works even on imported graphics, so it's gotta be doable somehow.

Not saying it's not too much work to bother with. But it's doable.
