I just noticed that if you edit a post, and your post contains a secret block with the ending /secret tag missing, it puts it in there nicely for you of course, but it puts the 'last edited at ..' message *inside* that secret block.

Exactly! the post gets messed up when you miss that for any tag. That is exactly why you shouldn't.

Well, closing tags are automatically added to the end of your post if you haven't put them there yourself, it doesn't necessarily mess it up. But anyway, not really important.
