Wow, it has been some time since I last posted on this forum...
New Job, new DROD (), so much to do in so little time, you know

Until now I plodded along nicely through JtRH, I even managed to
solve the room south from here, but now I'm stuck in this 'old style' room

But sadly I cannot find the right combo

Can somebody give me a hint?

Here's an oddity: I left one eye in place and got a flashing message that said I was in 22nd place. How could that be if I didn't even finish the room???

Hmm. It is possible that a room you solved before that hadn't been uploaded, and then suddenly got uploaded as you were nearly solving this room - I've had that happen to me a few times, with a break followed by lots of results all at once. Either that, or thats a pretty weird bug!

seeing as it took me over 6 hours (not counting the week of dying in between) to finish the room before that, i'm pretty sure that didn't place 22nd!

Only your total number of moves matter for the high scores: you could have spent one full year playing that room, and still have the best score, if you used the least moves to solve the room. Efficiency, not speed, is the key here.
