yesterday, i found this game http://www.babala.org/ . I find it really similar to DROD. It's good if you have free time or got a lil' tired of DROD (which i doubt)

Cool, I like it a lot. Pure turn based, like DROD, so that's always a plus.

Like DROD, the simple gameplay mechanics that anyone can pick up lead to more enjoyment. The movement/shooting points system keeps it interesting so it's not purely trivial on what you can actually do each move. Reminds me of Daleks, except now you have a gun and everyone can move multiple times per round. I enjoy how you move just a bit faster than most enemies, so you can kind of herd them around.

Level 30 has me stumped right now, so I'm taking a break, but I'm sure I'll be back to it.

EDIT: Yep, I'm dumb. I didn't notice something very important in Level 30, hence my trouble with it.

its fun to just make a path and then blow the guys away with dragon breath or bombs

Hey, you should check it out.. there's a new version of Babala now, and it's about twice as meaty, with the addition of 75 new -- mostly harder -- levels. Their web site's pretty interesting too, babala.org, with a forum and some other kewl things. They plan to do the Internet high score posting thing before long, I guess once the game's beta scoring system is sufficiently perfected.

Hey, about that... there's a new version of Babala out now, version 0.4.0 released 8/23/06, and it now has Web high scores posting.
