How do i go about solving this room? I'm not sure where to begin...

well, always analyze the problems:

1. how are you going to get to the monsters on the islands? I won't state the obvious here.

2. What obstacles are you going to run into?



3. How can you prevent the first problem?

I still can't figure it out!! I am coming in from the bottom entrance since It doesn't seem to be possible to reach the mimic potion in time without coming in from that side, but I'm not able to manipulate the mimic to finish off all the eyes once im I'm that little room. I usually still have 3-5 eyes still left unactivated on the wall - is that the problem? Where is the ideal placement for the second mimic?

This is a "walkthrough" of how I did it... secreted in the order of my revelations. Hope it helps, but, your mileage may vary.




PS When I restored to this level, I noticed that I had solved every other room when I was in the secret but these two were still red, so it's not just you

Not at all. You can do that before or after. Just go around it a bit. It really doesn't matter.

In retrospect I did this one pretty inefficiently. I'm not an efficiency nut in general if the room doesn't need it. I placed in to 200-something with this.

OK... how to do it I'm not asking... how to come in from the S is what has me baffled. I can't find anything on this level except to come in from the W... the danged simplest stuff baffles me!

**** Just wanted to say that it's possible coming in from the W... which is great since I still can't find my way in from the S!

Thank you...getting out toward the S wasn't the issue. Some finer player than I posted a note saying he or she was successful coming in from the S. I couldn't find a way to get started from that direction. (More than one way to skin an eyeball!)

Well, you said you couldn't "find your way in" from the South, and that you didn't know "how to come in" from the South. To me both of those sounded much more like you didn't know where the South entrance was, which was certainly very odd, but I was trying to be nice.
