if I could end the first tar fight with my sword pointing a different direction, I'd be cool, as well. that's the only way I can see to end up with the mimic in a different place.
This statement is false. Or to be more accurate, it may be the only way that you can (currently) see to put the mimic in a different place, but it is in fact not necessary to end up with your sword facing any direction other than north. Also, I didn't see a way to finish with my sword not facing north either.
