I still haven't reached the exit. I'm stuck in 1n1e. I can't for the life of me figure out how to stop the slayer trapping me.

I received the "Exit Level" notice days ago. I've killed everything in 5S1E, except the Slayer, but I can't get through the southeast exit passage. I've been all through the other rooms many times, but can't find a way into 1N1E. The kid is no help in 1E, and I can't get the northwest door open in 1S1E. In fact, there are several yellow doors which never open; and getting the kid there to help is apparently not an option.

At this point, I just want out of L8! TIA!

He got that bit. I figure you're having problems getting through the southeast passage in 5S1E. There's two ways to do this room, but this is my favourite way as it helps later:
