Disclaimer: I haven't played this room, but I think I can get you around the roach and into the chamber. But, not having tried this, I don't know if it will work.
Basically, you want to

×go clockwise around the block in the middle there. Of course, the trick is getting the roach to go clockwise as well

×you'll need to use body position to lure the roach, and sword position to overide the roach's natural instincts.

You need to get to 1 with your sword facing SE and the roach at 2.

×then get to 3 with the roach at 4

×stall one turn, and the roach will move south of the block, then turn sword south, move W, E, SE and the roach should follow you W, N, and then get stuck on the block at 4.
after that, it should be pretty easy to get into the chamber... now killing the snakes may be more difficult.
