I'm sure most people have played or at least heard of the Kevin Bacon game. For those of you who haven't, the point is to start with one actor, say Val Kilmer, and trace a path back to Kevin Bacon via movies/other actors. For example, Val Kilmer played Ice Man in Top Gun with Tom Cruise (Maverick) who was in A Few Good Men (Lt. Daniel Kaffee) with Kevin Bacon (Capt. Jack Ross).
The rules are this:
1. Post two stars (I don't like always going back to Kevin Bacon).
2. Everybody else posts possible paths between the stars
3. You may only use links where the person played a real role in the movie. For example, its ok to use Noah Wyle (Cpl. Jeffrey Barnes) in A Few Good Men, but not John M. Mathews (Guard #1) in the same movie. I think a good guideline is that the character has to have a real name, not something like Guard #1 or 3rd llama from the left.
4. The movies all have to have been released in theaters (no made-for-tv movies, tv-shows, straight-to-video movies, porn movies)... Guideline here will be that all movies have to be eligible (not necessarily nominated) for academy awards.
5. The goal is to find the shortest path between the actors. The time limit to submit paths is 24 hours after the first path is posted.
6. Feel free to use imdb to see who was in a particular movie or what movies somebody starred in as long as you are constructing the path "
by hand"
. But I would consider using a website like
The Oracle of Bacon to be cheating.
7. Winner starts the next round.
