Simon's Dungeon Level 2 1 North 1 East (0)

I'm assuming I need to open the gates on all but 2 of the roaches. I've come to the conclusion this mind set is erroneous. I've only been able to open 3 "roach" gates before the maze becomes impassable.

Help, a hint please! What am I ovelooking?

Guess I'll have to try again. I methodically went through the orbs using every combination (1 & 2, 1 & 3, 1 & 4 etc etc etc). I've obviously missed something!
